Napoleon Rosedale RD3 Direct Vent Gas Insert

The Napoleon Rosedale RD3 is a direct vent gas insert for an existing masonry or factory-built wood fireplace, sized a step up from the RD2 with a larger glass front and a 25 by 13 inch view of the fire. It fits openings as small as 21 inches high and 29 inches wide. You set the style with an Oak or Birch log kit and a faceplate and backerplate, all sold separately.

The RD3 is the millivolt model in the Rosedale line. It has a standing pilot with a piezo igniter, so the fire itself needs no electricity, and the F60 thermostatic remote comes in the box. A blower is optional, either the standard heat circulating blower or the hybrid gas and electric version, and either one needs a 120 volt outlet in the firebox. It comes in natural gas, and a propane conversion kit is available.

What Makes the Rosedale RD3 Different

• Runs without power. The millivolt valve and standing pilot keep the fire going during an outage, which matters in a Maine winter.
• Thermostatic remote included. The F60 remote ships with the insert and can hold a room temperature, not just turn the fire on and off.
• Blower is your call. Add the standard blower, the hybrid gas and electric blower, or skip it altogether.
• Your logs, your trim. Choose the Oak or Birch log kit, then a 4-sided faceplate and a 3-sided, 4-sided, or trimmable backerplate. Brick panels, a black porcelain reflective panel, and Black Illusion Glass panels are optional.

Ownership & Maintenance

The safety barrier comes with the insert and must be installed. The standing pilot stays lit while the insert is in use, and the glass door comes off for cleaning. We measure your fireplace opening and flue on site before the sale, and we offer ongoing service for our customers.
