Napoleon Oakville 3 Glass Direct Vent Gas Insert

The Napoleon Oakville 3 Glass is the contemporary version of the Oakville insert. It uses the same shell and electronics as the Oakville X3, but instead of logs the burner sits in a tray of glass media, so the fire comes up through a bed of glass rather than a log set. It fits a masonry or factory-built wood fireplace with an opening of at least 21 inches high and 29 inches wide and has a 22.63 by 15 inch viewing area.

The glass media, the blower, the Proflame remote, and the Bluetooth control module all ship with the insert. It uses SIT Proflame 2 electronic ignition and is eFIRE enabled, so you can run it from the remote or from your phone, and the Night Light lights the glass with the burner off. It needs a 120 volt outlet inside the firebox, with a 4 AA battery backup for outages. It comes in natural gas, and a propane conversion kit is available.

What Makes the Oakville 3 Glass Different

• Glass instead of logs. The burner sits under a media tray of glass with front and rear burner screens, for a cleaner, more modern fire.
• Media, blower, and remote included. The glass media comes with the insert and is the only media approved for it, and the blower, remote, and Bluetooth module are in the box too.
• Panels set the look. Pick Newport, Old Town Red, or Westminster brick panels or the MIRRO-FLAME black porcelain reflective panel; one set is required.
• Night Light. A built-in light under the media gives you a glow in the evening without running the burner.

Ownership & Maintenance

The safety barrier comes with the insert and must be installed. Napoleon says not to change or substitute the glass media that comes with the unit. The battery backup takes 4 AA batteries.
