Napoleon Elevation X 36 Direct Vent Gas Fireplace
The Napoleon Elevation X 36 is a traditional gas fireplace with a tall, clean-face window and a flame that fills the firebox from side to side. There is no louver or frame around the opening, so the logs and the panel behind them are what you see. You choose both. Napoleon's High Definition Split Oak, Driftwood, or Birch log kits set the fire, and ten panel finishes set the backdrop, from Newport, Westminster, Old Town Red, and Glacier brick in standard or herringbone pattern to Antique Ledgestone, Black Illusion Glass, and MIRRO-FLAME reflective porcelain.
What comes in the box is the part that usually gets overlooked. Two variable-speed blowers are built into the unit, along with the ProFlame II remote, the eFIRE Bluetooth controller, and the ENDLESS EMBERS modulating ember bed. The safety barrier is standard. One thing to know before framing: the Elevation X does not include its non-combustible board for the finish above and beside the opening. Napoleon sells a board kit for it, or you skip the board and use one of the DHC or DHM heat management kits, which finish differently. It is built in Ontario, Canada, and comes in natural gas and propane versions.
What Makes the Elevation X 36 Different
- Tall, clean-face window. A 30.44 x 24.94 in viewing area with no louvers and a flame that runs the width of the firebox.
- Two blowers built in. Left and right variable-speed blowers come with the unit, so there is no blower kit to add later.
- Ten panel finishes. Brick, ledgestone, glass, or reflective porcelain behind your choice of Split Oak, Driftwood, or Birch logs.
- On Demand ignition. Electronic intermittent pilot ignition with a continuous pilot mode and a 7-day timer gives you control over how the pilot runs.
This listing is the current Napoleon Elevation X 36, model EX36NTEL for natural gas or EX36PTEL for propane, with electronic ignition. The log set and decorative panels are required and sold separately, and the non-combustible board kit (NCEX36) is sold separately unless a DHC or DHM heat management kit is used in its place.

Input figures are Napoleon's ratings. How warm the room feels depends on the space, your home's layout, the installation, and how you run the fire.
Ownership & Maintenance
The safety barrier comes with the fireplace and must be installed. The remote is the main control and the unit has a battery holder for backup. If you add a finishing trim or front, the fireplace is set flush with the finished floor or hearth so the trim sits right, which we plan for during the install. We offer ongoing service for our customers.
We'll help you pick logs, panels, and trim, settle the board kit or heat management question, then plan the venting, framing, and installation. See more gas fireplaces or stop by our Auburn, Brunswick, and Yarmouth showrooms.
