Napoleon Ascent X 42 Direct Vent Gas Fireplace
The Napoleon Ascent X 42 is a traditional-style fireplace that comes with more of the package than most. The oak log set, glowing embers, and charcoal are in the carton, the premium safety barrier is on the unit, and the heat circulating blower, the F60 thermostatic remote, and Napoleon's Night Light are all included. You add the finish: brick or black porcelain reflective panels, a Heritage or Zen decorative front, a finishing trim, or a surround, all sold separately and all optional.
It vents off the top or the back with 5 inch exhaust and 8 inch intake pipe, and it ships set up as a top vent. The non-combustible finishing board for above the opening and an insulated sleeve for rear vent runs are in the box. It's built in Ontario, Canada, and comes in natural gas and propane versions.
What Makes the Ascent X 42 Different
- Logs, blower, remote, and Night Light included. The oak log set, blower, F60 thermostatic remote, and Night Light ember lighting come with it, so you're not adding them later.
- Finish it your way. Newport, Old Town Red, Sandstone, or Westminster brick panels, black porcelain reflective panels, Heritage or Zen fronts, trims, and a wrought iron surround are all optional.
- Top or rear vent. The unit ships as a top vent and converts to rear vent with the supplied collars, which gives the installer options on where the pipe goes.
- On Demand ignition. Electronic intermittent pilot ignition with a continuous pilot mode and a 7-day timer gives you control over how the pilot runs.

Ownership & Maintenance
The safety barrier comes with the fireplace and must be installed. The fireplace is hard wired to a 120 V circuit; the battery back-up runs on a USB power bank, which is not supplied. We offer ongoing service for our customers.
