This is the millivolt-ignition version of the Napoleon Ascent 42, for a homeowner who wants a standing pilot and a valve that runs without a control board. The fireplace itself is the same 42 inch traditional firebox: the PHAZER log set, glowing embers, and charcoal are in the carton and the standard safety barrier is on the unit, so the fire is complete as delivered. It comes in natural gas and propane versions.

The finish is up to you. Brick panels in Old Town Red or Westminster, black porcelain reflective panels, a Heritage or Zen decorative front, finishing trims, and a wrought iron surround are all optional. It vents off the top or the back with 4 inch exhaust and 7 inch intake pipe and ships set up as a rear vent. The blower and a remote or wall thermostat are optional. It's built in Ontario, Canada.

What Makes the Ascent 42 Millivolt Different

• No electricity needed for the fire. The gas millivolt system runs from its standing pilot, so the fire does not depend on household power. The optional blower does.
• Log set and barrier included. The PHAZER log set, embers, and the standard safety barrier come with it, so there is no required add-on to finish the firebox.
• Finish it your way. Brick or black porcelain reflective panels, Heritage or Zen fronts, trims, and a wrought iron surround are optional.
• Top or rear vent. It ships as a rear vent and converts to top vent with the supplied collars.

Ownership & Maintenance

The safety barrier comes with the fireplace and must be installed. The millivolt valve runs the fire without household power; if you add the blower, it needs power at the fireplace. We offer ongoing service for our customers.
