Napoleon Ascent 30 Direct Vent Gas Fireplace
The Napoleon Ascent 30 is the smallest of the Ascent fireplaces, a 30 inch traditional firebox for a wall where a larger unit won't fit. The PHAZER log set, glowing embers, and charcoal are in the carton and the standard safety barrier is on the unit, so the fire is complete as delivered. The finish is up to you: black porcelain reflective panels, a Heritage or Zen decorative front, and finishing trims are all optional.
It vents off the top or the back with 4 inch exhaust and 7 inch intake pipe, and ships set up as a rear vent, which suits a straight run out an exterior wall. The blower is optional on the Ascent 30, and so is a remote control. It's built in Ontario, Canada, and sold as a natural gas unit; a propane conversion kit is available.
What Makes the Ascent 30 Different
- Log set and barrier included. The PHAZER log set, embers, and the standard safety barrier come with it, so there is no required add-on to finish the firebox.
- Thirty inches wide. A compact footprint for rooms and walls that can't take a 36 or 42 inch fireplace.
- Top or rear vent. It ships as a rear vent and converts to top vent with the supplied collars.
- On Demand ignition. Electronic intermittent pilot ignition with a continuous pilot mode and a 7-day timer gives you control over how the pilot runs.
This listing is the current Napoleon Ascent 30, model B30NTRE-1 for natural gas with electronic ignition. The log set and safety barrier are included; the blower, remote, panels, fronts, and trims are optional and sold separately, and a propane conversion kit is available.

Ownership & Maintenance
The safety barrier comes with the fireplace and must be installed. The electronic ignition needs a 120 V connection at the fireplace, and the battery back-up holder takes 4 AA batteries, which are not supplied. We offer ongoing service for our customers.
We'll help you pick a front or trim and decide on the blower, then plan the venting, framing, and installation. See more gas fireplaces or stop by our Auburn, Brunswick, and Yarmouth showrooms.
