A lot of modern fireplaces look good. The Valor H5 is one that also gives you real choices in how the fire looks and how its warmth moves. This natural gas model uses Valor's stainless V-Class burner, which Valor designed for a strong radiant fire, and it's built to pair with HeatShift to send warm air where you want it.

Build it your way with birch, driftwood, or traditional logs, six liners, and fronts that range from a 1 inch clean install to a 4 inch 4-sided front and the Craftsman. Valor recommends pairing it with HeatShift, and the Valor 10 remote comes in the box.

• V-Class burner. Valor's V-Class burner is built from high temperature stainless steel and is designed for a strong radiant fire.
• HeatShift option. Valor recommends HeatShift for the H5. It moves warm air away from the fireplace opening to a better spot using natural convection, without a fan.
