The Napoleon Ascent Linear Premium 42 is for people who want a long, clean line of fire with a log set sitting in it. The glass opens up a 37.5 by 16.75 inch view, wide and low, so the fire reads like a picture across the wall instead of a box in the corner.

A lot comes in the box. The heat circulating blower, the eFIRE controller and remote, and the safety barrier are all included. You choose the log set, driftwood, birch, or split oak; it's sold separately and required to finish the fireplace. It's built in Ontario, Canada, runs on natural gas with electronic ignition, and vents direct vent through the top or rear.

What Makes the Ascent Linear Premium 42 Different

• Blower and remote already included. The heat circulating blower and the eFIRE controller and remote come standard, so you're not adding them later to get fan-assisted heat and easy control.
