For homes on propane, the Napoleon Ascent 42 brings a traditional log fire to the wall with very little to add. An oak log set and a safety barrier come included, and the logs rest on a glowing ember bed that makes the fire look lived in. The 37.69 inch wide viewing area gives the flames plenty of stage.

The B42PTRE model lights with electronic pilot-on-demand ignition and has battery back-up. A remote control is optional, and the pan style burner spreads the flame along the logs. Venting runs top or rear with a 4 inch exhaust and 7 inch intake. Napoleon makes the Ascent 42 in Ontario, Canada.
