The Valor G3 is a gas insert with a long track record. Valor introduced it in 1991, and the 739M engine keeps that design going with a wide choice of fuel beds: Classic, Legend, or Traditional logs, Pebble Beach Driftwood, or a bed of rocks. It's a simple way to turn an existing wood-burning fireplace into a gas fire you control with a remote.
This 739MN runs on natural gas and turns down to 6,500 Btu/h, so you can run a low, gentle flame when you want one. AutoFire and a Valor Plus remote are included, and Valor describes the G3 as a radiant fireplace that warms the room directly without relying on a fan or electricity. The fuel bed, liner, front, and surround are sold separately.
This listing is the Valor 739MN engine, the G3 direct vent gas insert for natural gas.
Btu and EnerGuide figures come from Valor. Actual comfort depends on the room, how the house is laid out, the installation, and how you use the fire.
The optional fan is not remote operated and needs a grounded power source. Buy from Hearth Doctor and you get support after the sale.
Bring us a photo of your fireplace and we'll talk through fit, liners, fuel bed, and front. Browse more Valor fireplaces and inserts, or stop in at our Auburn, Brunswick, and Yarmouth showrooms.
