The Jotul GI 635 DV IPI Newcastle is a larger gas insert that brings a lively gas fire to an existing fireplace. It runs on natural gas or propane and uses electronic ignition, so there's no pilot burning around the clock unless you want it to.
Two heat-activated blowers come built in. They switch on as the insert warms up and help push warm air out into the room. The insert vents through two 3-inch liners, and it has accent lights to set off the fire.

Ownership & Maintenance
The electronic controls, blowers, and accent lights use household power. If the power goes out, four AA batteries let you keep running the burner, but the blowers and accent lights won't run until power returns.
