HearthStone calls the Waitsfield its original classic three-sided gas stove, and the DX version adds real everyday convenience. A 2-stage ceramic burner and a turn-down of more than 50% let you run a low, gentle fire or turn it up high. The thermostatic remote and built-in blower are included, and a cast iron heat exchanger helps keep the heat in the room.

The DX uses a Maxitrol GV60 control with an on-demand pilot, so the pilot only burns when the stove calls for heat. The system runs on battery power, which means it keeps working if the power goes out. This page covers the DX, model 8770, not the standing pilot Waitsfield 8771.
