The HearthStone Stowe is a compact cast iron gas stove with a lot of charm for its size. That small, handsome shape is why HearthStone offers it in its own Oyster enamel, along with classic Brown Enamel and Matte Black. If you want a stove that looks like a traditional piece of cast iron but lights without kindling, it's worth a look.

The Stowe uses a SIT 820 Nova standing pilot, which uses very little gas and helps the stove start reliably in cold weather. After 7 days without use, the pilot shuts itself off. A cast iron heat exchanger moves heat from the fire into the room instead of up the chimney, and safety barrier screens come standard.

What Makes the Stowe Different

• Oyster enamel option. HearthStone calls it their unique Oyster enamel, and it sits alongside Brown Enamel and Matte Black.
• Cold-weather starts. The standing pilot helps the Stowe light reliably when it's cold out, and shuts off after 7 idle days.
