ortal-31-signature-burner
Ortal 31 (Signature Burner)

The Ortal 31 is a compact direct vent gas fireplace. Ortal also lists this one as the 75 x 65, its metric body size. Ortal's Signature burner is a long ribbon of flame rising from a bed of glass, pebbles or logs, which is the contemporary look most people picture when they think of a linear gas fireplace. It runs on natural gas or propane.

You can order it front facing, as a see-through between two rooms or as an indoor-outdoor see-through with one side facing a covered porch or patio. The front is either Ortal's double glass heat barrier, which keeps the outer glass cool enough to touch, or a micro mesh protective screen. The see-through versions have glass on both long sides, and the indoor-outdoor version uses double glass on the outdoor face so it can sit in an exterior wall under cover.

What Makes the 31 Different

Signature burner. A ribbon of flame over logs, pebbles or glass.

Configurations. Available front facing, as a see-through between two rooms or as an indoor-outdoor see-through with one side facing a covered porch or patio.

Glass or screen. Double glass heat barrier or micro mesh screen, your choice.

Key Specifications

Viewing area: 30 5/8 in x 25 9/16 in

Natural gas input: up to 29,100 BTU/hr (77.8% efficiency, Ortal rating)

Propane input: up to 28,118 BTU/hr (73.9% efficiency, Ortal rating)

Venting: 4 in x 6 in coaxial direct vent

Heat barrier: Double glass or micro mesh protective screen

Fire bed: Logs, pebbles or glass

Controls: Remote and wall switch

Input and efficiency figures are Ortal's published ratings.
