GAS FIREPLACES
A gas fireplace is the ultimate in convenience, ease and cleanliness. Since their introduction some 20 years ago, they have gone from being mostly decorative and somewhat unrealistic, to being highly efficient heaters with a wide range of finished appearances. Some units are stunning in their realism or modern contemporary design. These fireplaces are usually ‘direct vent’ by design, which means that they can be vented directly out an exterior wall. This feature not only significantly reduces installation cost but is also a contributing factor in their higher levels of efficiency. Most of the gas fireplaces that we sell operate with thermostats, remote controls or wall switches and yet are independent of standard household electricity. This makes them a good fallback for those pesky Maine winter power outages.
